News; New Silver Sculptures - just off the workbench.
Those of you that know my work, will notice a drastic reduction is size and may be surprised that this isn't wall size.
These new silver sculptures are very personal.
This piece above, "Sunrise” is of a monkey reaching for Mangos, with the Mayan glyph for Sunrise on the top bead.
I loved carving this piece. I've drawn and painted this monkey and his brothers several times over the years.
It is one of those images forever etched in my mind and drawn from memories ...Just setting on my deck at sunrise,
having a great cup of coffee, watching the monkeys in the trees. ...Bliss Moments.
The back of each piece - is hidden/private for the wearer, a meditation/protective/spiritual thing...
Sunrise back; is set with a Labradorite stone and a carved spiral with 4 compass points
(sorta my mark - meaning you can grow and travel in any direction - but you still grow and circle your soul).
Customized options are; differnet stone on the back and 24k gold accents, (gold highlighting on mangos or monkey).
Transformation. A Shaman in ritual dance to become his animal self , calling for the wisdom of the Jaguar.
A temple in the background and the Mayan Glyph - Sky Band - runs across the top.
The photos do not show the nice flash of the Rainbow MoonStone or Labradorite.
*This week, I'm escaping to Costa Rica for a fresh dose of inspiration.
I look forward to returning to a large cuff bracelet - half finished on the workbench.
The bracelet - Tree of Life; is a wide curved band of tree leaves and limbs with Central America animals
(jaguar, toucan, parrot, iguana, hummingbird, snake, + fruit, flowers...
2.5" x 7.25" heavy silver -but delicate in design.
When I return in August, and have the bracelet to show, I'll update with prices. please check back in.

Jungle to reef - large oil paintings to small ink sketches...
My paintings are dreamed into existence.
The medium, composition and size come pre-packaged in the dream.
They primarily revolve around my experiences with exotic birds and the endangered
wildlife of the Central American rainforest and the reef life of the Caribbean Sea.
My artwork covers a wide range of subject and media, large mural size oil paintings
of rainforest animals and tropical fish, bright watercolor paintings of exotic flowers,
hummingbirds, sea turtles, fish, tree frogs and geckos.
In pen & ink drawings, I let my imagination loose to fool around, creating mythical
creatures like mermaids and sea monsters, a few if these are included in my
nautical charts and maps. And, because of my love of archaeology and hieroglyphs,
I often create in the Serti technique on silk, using ancient artwork or a glyph
as my starting point ...and then sometimes - I just make up my own modern glyph.
